2 Krakauer Sausage Recipes to Die For: It’s All About the Gravy!

For our recipes we’ve taken general sausages recipes that we thought could work well with the Krakauer sausage. You see, our bacon frankfurter is particularly stunning so we know that any dish you create with it will be absolutely superb. Let’s get started!

A Classic: Brown Onion Gravy

We got the idea for this recipe from this Youtube video. There’s nothing like a good gravy and everyone knows that gravy and sausages just were made for each other. This recipe is really simple and as One Pot Chef says it makes the most of left over barbecue sausages. We doubt you’ll have many left over if you bought them from us but we definitely suggest this recipe if you ended up with with left overs.

– 10 Krakauer sausages
– Olive oil to fry the onions
– 1 Medium white onion
– 2 Cups of stock
– Half a cup of plain flour
– 1 tbsp Worcester Sauce
– 1/4 Cup ketchup
– Water

Chop the sausages. For the gravy: add olive oil to a deep pan, fry the onions and cook for 2 or 3 minutes. Add half a cup of plain flour and the Worcester sauce. Add the ketchup or tomato sauce. Stir. Add two cups of stock. Add 1 cup of water. Stir. Season with salt and pepper. While stirring add the chopped sausages. Simmer for about 15 to 20 minutes. Enjoy!

Krakauer and Pork Stew

Courtesy of Akis, we believe it would make a great dish with our fantastic Krakauer sausages!

– 5 Krakauer sausages
– Olive oil
– 300gr of diced pork
– 2 Red onions
– Balsamic vinegar
– Dark beer
– 1 Stock cube
– 1 Cup honey
– Rosemary and 1 bay leaf

Heat up your pan and add olive oil. Chop your Krakauer sausages. Slightly fry your Krakauer sausages. When ready, take out and just put on the side. Now is the time to add the diced pork into the pan. If you think you need more oil simply add it now. While the pork is cooking chop your onions into big pieces and then add to the pan. Now add the sausages. Glaze with balsamic vinegar and proceed to add the dark beer. Now add the stock cube. Add the honey. Add the rosemary and also the bay leaf. Cover and let it simmer for 1 hour. Enjoy!
