Third Party Courier Terms and Conditions
Most of our sausages are sent frozen, which guarantees maximum freshness and hygiene. From a consumer’s perspective, a ‘fresh’ sausage may seem more appealing than a frozen one. However, after many years in the industry, we can assure you that the frozen sausage does not diminish in taste – on the contrary, flavours are more intense compared to unfrozen products.
We reserve the right to use a courier of our choice, at the time of writing:
- Parcels are sent with DHL.
- Ambient pallets are sent with London Pallet Logistics.
- Frozen pallets are sent with Langdons.
The Sausage Man UK Limited ships all parcel and pallet orders with a third-party courier. The Sausage Man UK Limited dispatches all goods on a next day delivery service wherever possible, where a signature is required on delivery. Please make sure that on the day of delivery, someone will be there to receive the delivery. We cannot guarantee that the delivery service will place the goods in front of the door or a ‘safe’ place if no one is there to receive or unload them. However, you do have the option to get the order delivered to another address such as a neighbour or workplace, please state this clearly when ordering your goods.
As standard we use the couriers next day delivery services where they are available. The courier companies all know we send food goods and there is a high importance on care and speed of delivery. As a third-party courier is used, we are unable to control any deviations to the delivery as requested. In general, express delivery services do not guarantee delivery on the next day, although the likelihood is extremely high. However, particularly before the holidays (in particular, Christmas), delivery of the parcel may take longer than one day.
As this is a third-party service, we do not have any influence on this, and thus, also cannot guarantee next day delivery. In the unusual event that a shipment will be delivered too late, no claim, credit refunds, or subsequent claims can be made against the Sausage Man UK Limited, or against the courier.
Please check the package before accepting the goods, only accept damaged packages if the damage is also confirmed by the messenger in writing- otherwise, we will not be able to reclaim reimbursement for damaged parcels from the courier service and thus will not be able to compensate you for your loss.
- Parcel deliveries are packaged in insulated parcels and icepacks used where appropriate.
- Pallet deliveries are loaded on to the pallet and stretch wrapped.
- Frozen pallet deliveries are loaded on to the pallet and stretch wrapped. They are then transported on temperature-controlled transport, they should arrive with you in the same condition they leave us.
Even if the products have already been thawed, they can still be consumed for up to 5 days if a product temperature of 7°C has not been exceeded and the products are immediately placed in the refrigerator.
In the unlikely event that the products are already completely defrosted upon arrival, please check the temperature of the products with a suitable thermometer. If the temperature is above 7°C, do not consume the products and contact us immediately at [email protected]
