French Toast Chilli Beef

If its one thing shaping brunch menus in 2026, it is flavour confidence. Customers want dishes that feels familiar but deliver something unexpected and that is where the Swicy (Sweet + Spicy) trend earns its place.

Instead of adding chilli as an afterthought, this dish is built around it.

Our Chilli Beef Frankfurter brings warmth, depth and just enough heat to wake up the palate. Pair that with the golden french toast (soft inside, caramalised on the outside, and you get a brunch dish that hits multiple cravings at once. Here is how to make it!

Ingredients

  • 2 Chilli Beef Frankfurter
  • 4 Thick slices of bread
  • 2 Eggs
  • 120 ml Milk
  • 1 tbsp Sugar
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 1/2 tsp Cinnamon
  • Pinch of Salt
  • Strawberries
  • Blueberries
  • Golden Syrup
  • Icing Sugar

Instructions

  • In a bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, cream, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon and salt until smooth
  • Dip each slice of bread into the mixture for about 20-30 seconds per side until golden, crisp outside and soft inside
  • Pan fry Chilli Beef sausages for 6-8 minutes. Slice at an angle so it fits between the french toasts
  • Place one slice of French toast on the plate. Layer generously with Chilli Beef. Top with another slice of french toast.
  • Slice the sandwich diagonally into two big triangles. This exposes the Chilli Beef filling and gives that stacked Cafe look.
  • Golden syrup is drizzled generouslt over the top, letting it run down the sides
  • Handful of fresh strawberries and blueberries are scattered around the plate
  • Whole dish is lightly dusted with icing sugar, for that bakery style finish.

The flavour logic behind it

This combination works because each element does a job:

  • French toast delivers sweetness, richness and nostalgia
  • Chilli Beef sausage adds savoury depth and lingering heat
  • The sweetness rounds off the spice, while the spice stops the dish from feeling too heavy

  • A brunch alternative or something different to Pancakes with maple syrup
  • Elevates a classic without restraining kitchen staff
